Can I use an unlocked Nokia 5310 from Australia, in Canada?

The only place to buy a new Nokia 5310 is Ebay now, for around 100-130$. From Hong Kong/Australia. They are unlocked but the listers are telling me directly that they will not work with Rogers Wireless, is this true? Or is it just their bad english translations...?
