Do diabetics(type 1) not live as long as people who aren't?

I just want to know i dont mind if its bad news i heard somthing about it and i just want to clarify..i asked my mum and she says she dosent know which is a bad sign. I have had diabeties since i was 2 and thats 10 years just to give you an idear of how many more years ill live.
